This two-piece set contains a pair of the most used military workhorses from WWII. First is the AEC Matador Heavy AA Tractor which is decorated in a US Army livery of the 317 Btty, 165th Regiment, as used in Germany in 1945. The vehicle has an Olive Drab body and cab also reflected in the wheel inserts - and features a 'canopied' back in Quarry Grey. The vehicle number is printed on the rear tailgate and on the offside door only. The Allied Forces Star is printed in white on the roof of the cab for identification from the air and the model also benefits from a mass of detailed military markings in blue, red, yellow, beige and white.

The second model in the set is the Bedford MWD as used by the 5th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment, 43rd Wessex Infantry Division, in Holland during 1945. Also in Olive Drab, the vehicle has a slightly lighter drab green 'canvas back' and Olive Drab chassis and wheel inserts. Regimental insignia feature on the front and the rear and the vehicle number is printed on the offside of the bonnet and the rear tailgate only.

The set is typical of the vehicles that would have been used by Allied land forces in the lead-up to the end of the WWII in Europe in 1945. Following the end of the war, many of these vehicles passed into civilian use where they continued in service for a good many years.
